We are about to cover the best shared web hosting for small business, and bloggers who are just starting out. Plain good hosting talks, no frills.

I’m not going to list out all of the reasons for creating a website. It could be anything from expanding the presence of your ‘offline business’ online, to a hobbyist blog. In any case, having a fast and reliable web hosting at a reasonable price is important. Now, it’s also important to note that a hobbyist blogger won’t be inclined to pay as high amount of money for web hosting as compared to a small business that is actually looking to generate sales from their website. Different services fit different requirements, right?

That said, let’s have a look at the best shared web hosting for small businesses and bloggers who are just starting out.

1- Bluehost – Best shared web hosting for small business and bloggers on a low budget

If you’re just starting out I would recommend going with Bluehost. I’m telling you this because I previously hosted this website on Bigrock and while their services were slightly cheaper, the uptime wasn’t great. It was definitely better than any free web hosting out there but Bluehost is definitely better.

Bluehost has four different Plans

They offer four different plans depending on your needs. You can get started with the base plan but if you plan to add more sites you may want to consider at least the plus plan. Disclosure: this website is hosted on plus plan.

The setup process is super simple especially if you want to create a wordpress website. They also have a live chat support in case you don’t want to spend money on international calls. Check out Bluehost from below:

2- SiteGround – Best reliability, speed, and support

At first I planned to host my website on Siteground, but after reading this article by Harsh Agarwal I changed my mind. Don’t get me wrong. Siteground is probably one of the best shared hosting providers and their reliability, speed, and customer support are unmatched.

But, with such high standards comes a high price and their discount is valid only for the first term of payment. So if you purchased for a year, you get discounted rate for a year, but if you purchased for 3 years you’ll get the discounted rate for all 3 years. After that, you’ll have to renew at actual rate which is about 3 times more.

Going by the quality of their service and pricing, it makes sense to buy the longest term of plan initially. So you can either put your money to buy the longest term of plan or take my approach and start with Bluehost or other cheaper hosting. Then, after you have some earnings from your website, you can upgrade to SiteGround.

3- Big Rock – This one’s specifically for Indian businesses who want cheap hosting with Indian customers/audiences.

I’m going to say it again: If you have a slightly higher budget, go with Bluehost for better reliability. But, if a few minutes of downtime every week seems okay to you then you should go for it!

I’ve hosted two websites for about a year on their servers so I’m saying it from my experience.

BigRock has a dedicated India hosting which is costlier but not worth the money.

Also, don’t bother getting the expensive India specific server. It doesn’t have any advantage in terms of speed or reliability.

Conclusion – Best shared web hosting for small business

Bluehost is the way to go if you’re just starting out, it provides the best value for your money. SiteGround, although expensive is for those who want more reliability, and speed (it helps in Google rankings) and BigRock is best for businesses based in India with Indian customers/audiences.

So, those are the best web hosting providers that I know of. Which web hosting do you plan to use? Tell me in the comments below.
